But, first of all a bit about us. Our family consists of Jennifer and  Jim (Grandma and Grandad), Steve and Christie (Mum & Dad) and our little boys, 6year old Rhys and 20 month old Ioan. We come originally from Nuneaton, but we wanted a better life for all the family in the countryside

Back in August 2004, we bought The Plash Inn, a beautiful country pub set in West Carmarthenshire. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time running the pub as a family business. With the welcoming locals and the community spirit, who could resist it?

In June 2007, our second son, Ioan arrived. After many stressful days in Special Care Baby Unit he was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. This came as a huge shock to the family and diverted our attention away from the pub. With many hospital appointments required and more and more treatments needed, we realised that this was not going to be easy. Now 20 months on we were right! Our children are growing up, as all children do, but, with disability in the equation it is very hard.  Something had to give!

So, in April 2008 we decided it was time to put our priorities in order and we reluctantly put the pub on the market. After seven months with some interest but no sale we decided to explore other avenues. After much deliberation, we decided to sell the pub by form of competition.

So, some lucky person can win the lifestyle that we have enjoyed and a business for a mere £20 … and it will be mortgage free!
