Q: How do I enter?

A: Click on the “ Enter Competition” Button, answer the 4 Multiple Choice Questions correctly & fill in the Tie-Break, then enter your Card details on the AlertPay Checkout and that’s it.

Q: What are my chances of winning?

A: Greater than the Lottery! We will only sell 30,000 tickets then close the Competition. Once all tickets are sold, the panel of Judges will evaluate the Tie-Break answers based on: 1.Personal Thoughts On Winning The Plash Inn; 2. Creative Flair.

Q: Who are the panel of Judges?

A: A representative of the Competition Solicitor and an independent estate agent.

Q: What if I Enter more than once?

A: Then your chances of winning are greater. You can enter as many times as you like, although, due to there being no “Draw” as such you will need to go through the entire process for each entry.

Q: When will the Competition end?

A: Once we reach 30,000 Tickets sold the Competition will close, the Judges will go through all entries and we will issue a date when we will announce the Winner.

Q: Will I get a receipt for my entry?

A: Yes, you will receive a combined confirmation email and receipt from AlterPay.

Q: What does the Winner have to pay for?

A: Only the Competition Entry and the cost of getting here. We will be paying all the Winner’s fees. All the bills relating to The Plash Inn will be settled before change of ownership.

Q: How is the Winner selected?

A: Once the Competition has closed, all the Tie-Breaks on Entries will be read by the panel of Judges and they must unanimously decide on a Winner based on the criteria of the Tie-Break.

Q: Who currently has the Property Deeds?

A: They are currently in the hands of our Solicitor.

Q: What happens if we don’t reach the 30,000?

A: If we don’t reach our cash target we have the right to extend the competition by 3 months. If at that point we still haven’t reached our target then we will do a Cash Draw and the Winner will receive all the monies minus third party expenses. More Details in our Terms & Conditions.

Q: Does the Property come Furnished?

A: The business element comes with all Fixtures & Fittings (eg Bar, Restaurant, Kitchen, Toilets, Cellar & Cottage). The Flat will be unfurnished as these are our personal belongings.

Q: When would the Winner actually take possession?

A: After the Winner is announced we would need the Winner’s solicitors details to process the change of ownership. These timescale's are dependant on how fast the Solicitor’s work.

Q: Aren’t these Competitions’ riddled with legal problems?

A: Some Competitions have had issues regarding the Gambling Commission, but we have worked closely with our Solicitors and the Gambling Commission to ensure total compliance with the guidelines set down for this type of Competition.

Q: Is the Pub really worth £600,000?

A: The simple answer is No. The administration costs of the Competition are far greater than a straightforward sale, and these costs including Legal, Website, Payment Collection, Taxes and any encumbrances on The Plash Inn, plus Winners Fees and Stamp Duty are all covered by the Ticket Sales.

Q: Do I need to get a special Licence to run a Pub?

A: If you wish to run the Pub yourself, then yes you need a Personal Licence. If you do not hold a Personal Licence then you cannot sell alcohol. If you do not intend to run the Pub yourself, then whoever is going to run it for you must have a Personal Licence. We can supply any details concerning Personal Licence Courses should you wish.

Q: Why aren’t you just selling The Plash in the normal way?

A: We had the Plash on the market for most of 2008 and found that, even though there was some interest, obtaining finance was a sticking point for many people. This way, in the current financial climate, anyone interested in acquiring the Pub can have a go, for little outlay and, if successful, have no mortgage.
